EASTPOINTE, Mich. (WJBK) -

Parents in Eastpointe are being told to be on alert following the attempted kidnapping of a 13-year old girl.

The teen tells police that she was picked up by a man while walking home from Kelly Middle School on Monday afternoon. The girl says she was walking in the area of Nine Mile and Kelly Road when a man grabbed her from behind and forced her into a gray vehicle. She was then able to escape and ran to a stranger's house where she got help.

The teen described her attacker as being a black male, about 25 years old.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Eastpointe police.
