Woman, 2 kids reported kidnapped found OK

ATLANTA -

Atlanta police said they have located a woman and two children who were reported kidnapped on Friday night.

According to John Chafee of the Atlanta Police Department, a man said he was in an SUV on Reed Street around 7 p.m. Friday when someone attempted to carjack him. The man was shot in the chest.

At that point, a woman apparently drove up to the scene with her two children in her vehicle. The carjacking suspect then apparently got into the vehicle with her and forced her to drive off, according to Chafee.

The woman and her children were found Saturday morning around 8:30 a.m. at the West End Mall. The woman said she had a headache, and two children were said to be fine, according to Atlanta police.

That man was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital and is in stable condition.

Authorities are investigating the incident.
