Chef Who Confessed To Cooking Wife Gets Sentence

He killed his wife and cooked her body for days to get rid of her remains.  On Friday, the Lomita Restaurateur learned his punishment, which is 15 years to life in prison.

David Viens, the convicted killer, talked for 45 minutes in court, representing himself, trying to convince a judge to give him a new trial. He had fired his attorney after his conviction.  The new tactic wasn't successful.  While in court, Viens had said he originally lied to the police out of feat and he said, "My life's been a mess ever since."
