LANSING, Mich. (WJBK) -

Jennifer Granholm will not seek the Senate seat being vacated by democratic Sen. Carl Levin, FOX 2 political analyst Tim Skubick reports.

Skubick says there had been wide-spread speculation that the former Michigan governor would run for election in 2014, but sources tell him the Senate is "not a good fit" for Granholm.

Levin, who was first elected to the Senate in 1978, announced he would not seek re-election earlier this month.

He serves as Senate Armed Services chairman.
