PHOENIX (AP) - The Maricopa County Board of Supervisors has chosen Clint Hickman to fill a vacant seat on the five-member panel.

The board on Thursday afternoon unanimously selected Hickman, who is vice president of sales and marketing for Hickman's Family Farms.

Seventeen people submitted their resumes by last Friday's deadline in hope of completing Max Wilson's term.

The 70-year-old Wilson announced his resignation March 1, citing health reasons.

He had been a county supervisor since 2002 and oversaw District 4.

The district includes Sun City, Sun City West, Litchfield Park, Surprise, El Mirage, Peoria, Youngtown, Wickenburg and parts of Glendale, Goodyear, Avondale and Buckeye.

Wilson's replacement had to be a registered Republican from District 4.
