Posted: Updated:

FORTUNA, Calif. (AP) -- Investigators arrested six people and seized dozens of weapons including assault rifles and thousands of marijuana plants after a state investigation uncovered a pot-trafficking ring.

California Attorney General Kamala Harris on Wednesday said investigators served 12 search warrants in Rio Dell, Fortuna and Bridgeville in Humboldt County, and San Francisco and Sonoma.

After a nearly 3-year investigation, agents found the plants and hundreds of pounds of processed pot, 44 weapons, high-capacity magazines, cocaine and $74,000 in cash.

Among those arrested were 31-year-old Eric Sordal on suspicion of child endangerment, marijuana cultivation and possession of assault weapons.

Also arrested were 35-year-old Jamie Gilbert; 31-year-old Scott Moore; 64-year-old Emory Ayers; 35-year-old Shawn Mitten and 27-year-old Alvin Machado.

Harris' office said the pot was being sold illegally throughout the United States.
