Los Angeles, CA -

Ok, so the budget deficit stands at $165 million dollars, more or less. The city budget and finance committee usually gets public input by going to different communities, and holding forums that are attended by very few -- taking the show on the road costs tens of thousands of dollars.

So, Councilmember Paul Krekorian, who appends to head the committee, decided to hold one forum in downtown Los Angeles, broadcast live, not only to the satellite offices in Van Nuys and San Pedro, but also on the Internet, while taking tweets from the public.

"This costs a couple of thousand, versus tens of thousands" says Krekorian, "and hopefully, we can get more input."

"You can always tweet the City Council District 2" commented someone actually in person at the meeting, "but getting immediate response, tweeting, while you are following the meeting, is kind of cool! "

@cd2news will take you to the link. They are planning on doing this for other meetings.

If all you want to do is watch, the meetings are streamed live, and you can always submit comments HERE.
