OLYMPIA FIELDS, Ill. (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A 17-year-old Orland Park girl suffered life-threatening injuries Friday morning when she was hit by a car in south suburban Olympia Fields, and a 21-year-old Park Forest man is facing charges for providing her with liquor before the incident, police said.

Lemanuel J. Pitts, 21, of the 100 block of Illinois Street, was charged with one count of providing liquor to a minor and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, police said.

The Orland Park girl was hit by a car while wandering along the roadway in the 3600 block of U.S. 30 at 5 a.m., police said.

The girl was taken to St. James Hospital in Olympia Fields, then airlifted to Stroger Hospital in Chicago. An update on her condition was not available Friday evening.

Olympia Fields Police Chief John Krull said the driver of the car that hit her pulled over and immediately called 911.

He said the Suburban Major Accident Reconstruction Team was investigating.
