PHOENIX (AP) - Arizona State University students could see tuition increase by 3%, Northern Arizona University students are facing a 5% tuition hike and University of Arizona students could owe 3% more starting next year.

The Arizona Board of Regents released tuition and fee proposals from Arizona's three public universities on Friday.

The board has scheduled a public hearing on the proposals on March 27 via videoconference at all public university campuses.

Board members are expected to set final tuition and fee rates for the 2013 academic year in April.

Since 2007, tuition and fees for Arizona's public universities have increased by up to 96%.

University officials are also expected to debate this month tuition breaks for some illegal immigrants.

Illegal immigrants are charged more than state residents.
