We all know homelessness is a problem here in the valley, but what many don't know is the problem of homeless veterans and their animals.
"Your pets tend to become part of the family, so when a vet suffers out on the street, his pet suffers at the same time," said Tony Motley of the Madison Street Veteran's Association.
Many times, dogs end up at the pound, often euthanized because its owner is homeless.
The Madison Street Veteran's Association is one of the few shelters in the valley that welcomes pets.
Caring for the vets and the animals can be costly, so on Saturday, several organizations and performers will come together for the vets and their pets charity ride. It's an all day event that includes music, entertainment and food for the entire family.
"It's a 90 mile ride and it ends up at Apache Junction Harley-Davidson. We're going to have raffles, auctions and two bands and just a really good time all for the vets," said John Beausoleil, the master of ceremony for the event.
"The weather's going to be gorgeous. Come on out and enjoy some music, enjoy some good times and let's help these vets get back on their feet," said Robert Anthony, the lead singer of "The Song Remains the Same."
