Popular YouTube personality Meghan Tonjes talks with the Nine about her series "Request Tuesday." Tonjes has been producing "Request Tuesday" for the past 5 years.
In the "Request Tuesday" series, Tonjes takes popular and not so popular music and makes her own acoustic versions of it.Over that time she has gained the support of Perez Hilton, Ryan Seacrest and Ellen Degeneres. Her videos have been seen over 10 million times and over 150,000 people have subscribed to the YouTube channel. Tonjes has even traveled to L. A. to appear on the Ellen Degeneres show.
After being on the Ellen Degeneres show, Tonjes' production of "Be In Want" became a top 10 hit on the singer-songwriter iTunes charts. The debut album also ranked in the top 20 downloaded albums in the same week after the show. Tonjes has since then joined the Digitour, a YouTube-centric tour. She became one of 25 people chosen for YouTube NextUp, which she gained $35,000 to grow her channel and content.
