60th annual March of Dimes Fashion Extravaganza March 17

A fashion show and luncheon, benefiting the March of Dimes will take place on Sunday, March 17 at 2 p.m. at the St. John's Armenian Center.
The theme for the Fashion Extravaganza is "A Royal Affair," hosted by the Mistress of Ceremonies, Amyre Makupson. The Fashion Extravaganza was started by Violet T. Lewis, the founder of Detroit's Lewis College of Business. The mission of the fashion show it to support the March of Dimes in saving babies. The show has raised over one million dollars in the past.
Jewelry, purses, flowers, clothes and a variety of accessories will be on sale starting at 1:30 p.m. from a variety of vendors. The fashion show begins at 2 p.m. Tickets are still available for remaining seats, priced at $55.
The March of Dimes is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality. Founded in 1938, the March of Dimes funds programs of research, community services, education, and advocacy to save babies and in 2003 launched a campaign to address the increasing rate of premature birth.
