Video: Board Member Says No to 'Blended' Rail Plan

Lynn Schenk said she has to go with her conscience and that means a "no" vote on a key memo to move forward on high-speed rail's blended plan.
A longtime supporter of high-speed rail and the vice chair of California's High-Speed Rail Authority, Schenk clearly surprised other members of the board.
As investigative producer Heidi Cuda reported last week, her comments were made at a recent rail authority meeting in San Mateo County, and the video link was just posted this morning on the rail authority's website.
Shortly after her comments, a break was called and Chairman Dan Richard said they would postpone the vote until they have a quorum.

A car crashed into a building on 2nd Avenue and East 4th Street in the East Village on Wednesday morning. At least eight people were injured, three in serious condition, according to FDNY officials.
