PRESCOTT, Ariz. (AP) - Two senior Yavapai County Sheriff's Office officers have resigned, including one who was placed on leave pending an investigation into a December Prescott bar fight involving members of a law enforcement motorcycle riders club.

Sheriff's spokesman Dwight D'Evelyn says Sgt. Bill Suttle and Capt. Marc Schmidt submitted their resignations Monday and intend to apply for retirement.

According to The Daily Courier, D'Evelyn says he could not say why Suttle and Schmidt resigned.

Suttle is a former commander of a drug trafficking task force while Schmidt was a member of the executive staff of the Sheriff's Office.

The Arizona Department of Public Safety and Coconino County Sheriff's Office are separately investigating the bar fight.

D'Evelyn says those reports aren't yet complete.
