5 injured when pickup crashes into LI funeral home

HEMPSTEAD, N.Y. (AP) - Police are investigating an accident in which five people were injured when the driver of a pickup truck plowed into a Long Island funeral home.

It happened at around 5:30 p.m. Monday in Hempstead.

Police say the driver lost control and backed into the I. J. Morris Funeral Home after hitting several other vehicles.

Four people and the driver suffered minor injuries. They were treated at area hospitals.

No one in the funeral home was injured.

Police say the driver, who was not identified, was being tested for drugs and alcohol.
