Truck crashes into power pole; driver takes off

PHOENIX -

It was a scary wake up call Tuesday morning for a man in a Phoenix neighborhood.

A truck crashed into his home's backyard wall, then took out a power pole near 27th Avenue and Grovers -- and we're told the driver took off from the scene.

The homeowner says the noise and his barking dog woke him up.  He's not surprised to find out that this happened.

"I've been waiting for this to happen.  I've been living here for over 20 years, so you know they keep getting closer and closer and closer," said David Holleran.

Salt River Project crews are trying to fix the downed power line.

Power was out at the Holleran's house and it appears that most of the neighborhood was not affected.

The driver took off from the scene before Phoenix police officers arrived, but it appears he may live in the area.
