Van jumps Queens curb; 1 dead

One person was killed and four others were injured by a vehicle that jumped the curb in Queens Monday morning.

A 22-year-old male was rushed to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition. He died a short time later, according to officials.

The minivan had severe front end damage and a smashed windshield after the incident in Long Island City.  Police tape surrounded the vehicle.

The NYPD was trying to determine why the driver plowed into the pedestrians on the sidewalk in front of LaGuardia Community College at about 10:30 a.m..

The injured were being treated at Elmhurst Hospital.
