DETROIT (WJBK) -

Police say one man was injured after an accident that left a car on top of a gas line on the city's west side.

The crash happened early Monday morning on the corner of Gilchrist and Puritan streets. Police say a Cadillac ran a stop sign on Puritan and slammed into another moving vehicle which then hit a house and became stuck on a gas meter.

One of drivers is said to be in critical condition. The other driver is expected to be alright.

A tow truck driver was able to get the car off the gas meter around 5:30 a.m.
