Phoenix Police have taken a man into custody after he allegedly put a sign in the window of his car that read, "There's a bomb in the car."
Phoenix Police Sgt. Steve Martos says 76-year-old Elias Carras parked his car in a business complex at 12th St and Osborn, put a sign in his car, and walked away into a neighborhood.
Some people who worked at the complex saw the note and called police.
Carras later reappeared and said he owned the car.
"This elderly male came up to one of the officers, surrendered to the officer indicating he was in fact the person who had dropped off his vehicle here and placed this note in the car," said Sgt. Martos. "We don't know exactly why he did this at this point in the investigation... however, we believe there was an attorney's office at this location he may have been upset with, again we don't know at this point."
Carras was booked into jail. He is facing charges of threatening.
Meanwhile, the bomb squad examined the vehicle and cleared it of any explosives.
