Police arrest Mexican man in Tucson homicide case

NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) - A Mexican man wanted in connection with a homicide in Tucson has been arrested at the southern Arizona border.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers assigned to the Dennis DeConcini Port of Entry say 28-year-old Alejandro Talamantes-Osorio was taken into custody Wednesday.

They say Talamantes-Osorio was referred for additional questioning when he attempted to enter Nogales through the pedestrian area.

During a routine records check, Talamantes-Osorio told officers he was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for homicide.

CBP officials say He was arrested and turned over to the Tucson police.

Details of the murder case weren't immediately available Thursday.

Authorities say Talamantes-Osorio is from Nogales, Sonora.
