Arizona average gasoline prices up only slightly

Posted: Updated:

PHOENIX (AP) - After increasing by 70 cents since the start of this year, gasoline prices around Arizona slowed this week.

Officials with AAA Arizona said Thursday that the average statewide price for unleaded regular gasoline is $3.74 a gallon. That's less than a penny higher than last week.

This week's national average is $3.71 per gallon, down by more than 6 cents from last week.

AAA analysts say prices climbed for 45 consecutive days. The cost at the pump is expected to keep slowly dropping in coming days.

Tucson has the lowest average gasoline price in Arizona at $3.54 a gallon while Scottsdale has the highest at $3.88.

Wyoming has the lowest average gas prices in the continental U.S. at $3.30 a gallon with California having the highest at $4.20 a gallon.
