The man accused of crashing his vehicle into a car carrying a pregnant woman and her husband on the way to a hospital in Brooklyn was charged with vehicular manslaughter.

Cops with the NYPD's Brooklyn North Warrant's Violent Felony Squad and the Regional Fugitive Task Force caught Acevedo in the parking lot of a minimart on Hellertown Road in Bethlehem, Pa., on Wednesday, authorities said.

He was held by the Pennsylvania State Police Wednesday into Thursday morning. After Acevedo waived extradition, NYPD detectives escorted him back to a precinct in Brooklyn Thursday afternoon.

Acevedo, 44, is an ex-con who was behind the wheel of a BMW that slammed into a livery cab early Sunday at 60 mph, police said. The crash killed Nachman and Raizy Glauber, who was seven months pregnant.

Her baby was delivered via C-section but later died, family said. The city medical examiner's office said the baby died of extreme prematurity.

The driver of the livery cab was knocked out, but was not badly hurt, officials said.

The AP reported that the baby was buried Monday near his parents' graves, according to a spokesman for the Hasidic Jewish community.

Acevedo faces three counts each of criminally negligent homicide of leaving the scene of an accident, the NYPD said.
