PHOENIX (AP) - Former U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl has a new job.
The Arizona Republican is now a senior policy adviser for the Washington office of the international law firm of Covington & Burling.
Kyl says he will focus his work for the firm on clients dealing with the federal government on issues related to taxes, health care, defense, national security and intellectual property.
Kyl served 26 years in Congress. He left office in January after not running for re-election last year.
Before being elected to Congress, Kyl practiced law in Arizona and headed what is now the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
Kyl says he plans to become an attorney with Covington & Burling but first must be licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia.
