DETROIT (WJBK) -

Arson investigators are at the scene of a fire at the doorway of a missionary building on Detroit's west side.

FOX 2's Amy Andrews reports the small fire Wednesday morning caused minor damage on the steps of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Mission, also called PIME Ministries, on Quincy St. near the campus of University of Detroit-Mercy.

No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire wasn't immediately known, but investigators said it appeared to be of an incendiary nature.

The building was originally a convent, and it currently serves as office space and housing for a number of priests who were there at the time of the fire.
