Teens Sought For Hollywood Robbery-Carjacking Spree

Posted: Updated:
Hollywood, CA -

(CNS) Police today were on the lookout for two or three young men who wielded claw hammers, knives and possibly a Taser during a 20-minute crime spree that included three robberies and a carjacking in Hollywood.

The crimes took place in intervals of about five minutes late Monday night, said Sgt. Enrique Mendoza of the Los Angeles Police Department's Hollywood Station. The first was a robbery at 10:50 p.m. at the intersection of Yucca Street and Las Palmas Avenue, followed by robberies at Selma Avenue and Schrader Boulevard and Lexington Avenue and June Street, Mendoza said.

The robbers made off with victims' cash, wallets and cell phones and in one case took someone's saxophone, he said, adding that each robbery involved a single victim.

The spree was capped off with a carjacking at the intersection of Waring Avenue and Cahuenga Boulevard, Mendoza said. The vehicle was found abandoned not far from where the suspects took it, he said.

None of the victims were injured, Mendoza said.

The suspects, hoodie-clad males in their late teens or early 20s, were last seen heading south on foot on Cahuenga, Mendoza said.
