LIMERICK, Pa. -

A jogger in her 30s was struck and killed by a car along Lewis Road in Limerick Township Monday.

According to Limerick police, the car crossed the highway and struck her from behind.

Police say the car then hit a utility pole.

The jogger, whose identity has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police say the driver, an 18-year-old man, was taken to Phoenixville Hospital with what were reported to be minor injuries.

Police say it's not yet clear why the car suddenly crossed the highway. Witnesses told police they saw the car heading northbound when it crossed over into the southbound lane seconds before it struck the jogger.
