Posted: Updated:
PHILADELPHIA -

A downed wire that damaged multiple pieces of PECO equipment cut the power to hundreds of West Philadelphia homes Sunday evening.

A PECO spokesperson tells FOX 29 that the power was expected to be restored to the remaining homes impacted by the outage by 10 p.m. Sunday night.

By 8:30 p.m., PECO already had restored power to half of the homes affected.

The customers without power were in the area of West Girard Avenue and Belmont Avenue.

PECO says multiple crews were dispatched when the outage was reported.
