Macon man says he was kidnapped outside courthouse

Posted: Updated:

MACON, Ga. (AP) - Macon police are investigating after a man says he was kidnapped at knifepoint outside the Bibb County Courthouse by an assailant who cut and robbed him.

The Telegraph of Macon reports 41-year-old Lewis Robert Clark had cuts on his neck and stomach when police interviewed him at Coliseum Hospital.

A police report says Clark told investigators he had gone into the courthouse Thursday afternoon and came out to find a man rummaging through his Jeep Wrangler. Clark says the man pulled out a knife, put it to his neck and demanded that Clark drive them to another location.

The report says the man took Clark's wallet as well as cash and pills from the vehicle before fleeing. Police have reported no arrests.
