Deadly Fire Leaves Dozens Homeless

Posted: Updated:
Lansdowne, PA -

A deadly 5 a.m. fire at the Keystone Apartments sparked fear in sleeping residents.

"I was terrified!  I was crying," exclaimed resident Sally Nyomah.

When Nyomah peeked out her apartment in the burning building she saw smoke and raced back in to get her pride and joy to safety.

"I  wasn't thinking about myself," she explained.  "I  was thinking about my kids. I was so scared."

"I  smell like smoke, " said fire victim Qran Lindsay, "But I'm just happy I'm alive and didn't
sleep through that. "

Investigators say most of the damage was  done to the third floor where the fire started in a now burned out unit. The medical examiner could be seen in the window where a woman in her 50s was found dead. Fox 29 has confirmed the victim's name is Marge Mc Clernan.

Officials say the fire on  South Wycombe in Lansdowne displaced about 26-residents.

Joyce pinfeather is one of them. "It's not just some place to live. It's like a family it was
home. That's hard part it was home."

The Red Cross is housing some of the displaced residents. What caused the fire is still under investigation. At this time police don't believe it was purposely set.
