February saw unusually cold days for Arizona

PHOENIX (AP) - National Weather Service officials say it was colder than normal in Arizona throughout February.

In Phoenix, the average low observed in February was 46 degrees, compared to the normal low of 49. There were four days of rain.

In Tucson, the average low was 37 degrees. Overall, it was 2.3 degrees colder than the normal February temperature average.

In Flagstaff, the average low observed in February was 15, compared to the normal low of 19. Last year, the average low was 19.

In Yuma, the average low in February was 47. The normal low is 50 degrees.

March should bring a shift to warmer weather. In Phoenix, temperatures were expected to hover above 80 degrees through at least Tuesday. In Tucson, temperatures could reach the low 80s.
