Man apparently killed by hit-and-run driver in Inkster

INKSTER, Mich. (WJBK) -

It was a horrible scene in Inkster on Friday morning.  Police are investigating what appears to be a deadly hit-and-run.

Someone passing by Central near Parkwood saw a man in the road and called Inkster police. They quickly blocked off the area to try and piece together exactly what happened.

Investigators believe the person was likely hit by a car that then drove off because of the tire tracks leading up to his body.  We're told he had no identification on him, and there were no vehicles parts left at the scene only adding to the deadly puzzle.

The man killed is believed to be somewhere between 50 and 60 years old.  Another clue to his identity is a prosthetic right leg.  Police hope someone with information will come forward soon.

An autopsy is scheduled for sometime on Saturday.
