BUCKS COUNTY, Pa. -

A Bucks County neighborhood is on edge after parents were sent a letter by a school principal notifying them that a 5th grade student was approached by a man offering him a ride while on his way home from school.

The incident happened Wednesday as the student was on their way home from the Albert Schweitzer Elementary School, part of the Neshaminy School District.

Herbert Hoover Elementary School principal Michael Rodriguez in the letter said the student ran away from the car and went straight home.

Officers with the Middletown Township Police Department interviewed the student and are now investigating the incident.

The man is described as a white man with a beard.
