An Auburn Hills man is facing criminal charges after investigators say he recruited a 16-year old girl to work as a prostitute.
35-year-old Jackie Robinson Harris was arrested in Warren on February 27, by Michigan State Police and the Warren Police Department and is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday.
In a release Attorney General Bill Schuette says Harris allegedly enticed the girl into helping run a prostitution ring before he later sent her to work as a prostitute. Under Michigan law, recruiting a minor for the purposes of sexual exploitation is human trafficking.
Since its launch in 2011, Schuette's Human Trafficking Unit has secured five human trafficking convictions, with cases against four additional defendants currently pending.
