Santa Ana, CA -

(CNS) Santa Ana police asked for the public's help in locating a man who walked into a woman's apartment, stole $100 and calmly walked out when her son confronted him, then returned to another apartment in the same complex a short time later and made a woman cook for him while he ingested narcotics.

The man entered the first woman's apartment in the 500 block of North Lyon Street at 7 a.m. Monday through an unlocked door. Once inside he stole $100 from her purse while she slept. When he was confronted by the victim's son, the man calmly walked out, according to Santa Ana police.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Monday, he returned to the same complex and forced his way into another apartment through a window. Once inside, he was confronted by another woman. He grabbed her and forced her to remain in her home for nearly three hours, refusing to allow her
to leave. He demanded she cook for him while he smoked methamphetamine, media sources
reported.

He then fled on a stolen blue Schwinn beach cruiser with whitewall tires.

The suspect may be a transient who hangs around the neighborhood. He is described as about 40 years old, 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighing 160 to 170 pounds, with short black/gray hair, a dark complexion and was wearing a black "snow'' type jacket with a black hooded sweatshirt underneath and unknown red writing or a  logo on the front. He also wore dark blue denim jeans and white sneakers.

Anyone with information about the case was asked to call Detective Verdugo at (714) 245-8345.
