LOS ANGELES (AP) — Lindsay Lohan is committed to turning her life around and wants to record public service announcements about the dangers of domestic violence, alcohol abuse and drunken driving, her lawyer said.

Mark Heller said in an interview that the actress' plans are independent of a criminal case that could return her to jail.

He said Lohan is undergoing intense psychotherapy sessions and has had an "epiphany" about issues that have landed her in court repeatedly since her first arrests in 2007.

Heller said he is meeting with a prosecutor Friday to discuss a possible resolution to a misdemeanor case that alleges Lohan lied about driving when her car smashed into a dump truck in June. Lohan has pleaded not guilty in the case, which also charges her with reckless driving.
