CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -
An Indianapolis restaurant owner hired a teenager who walked ten miles just to interview for a job.
FOX 59 reports Jhaqueil Reagan couldn't afford to take a bus, so he walked to his interview for a minimum wage Dairy Queen job.
On his way there, Art Bouvier spotted him, and asked the 18-year-old why he was walking so far in the ice and snow.
Reagan said he didn't have enough money for bus fare, so he decided to walk. He said he needed the job because his mother died two years prior, and earning money to support his brothers and sisters was his main priority. He recently worked for his GED after having to drop out of high school to find work.
When the Papa Roux owner found out the facts, he hired Reagan to work for double the pay.
Bouvier will be driving the young man to work at the Cajun restaurant until he earns enough to take the bus. But after hearing about the story, Indianapolis' public transit system has given Reagan a year's supply of bus passes.
