Security cameras making little impact on reducing crime on CTA

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) -

Security cameras don't seem to be helping to reduce crime on the CTA.

The Chicago Sun-Times crunched the numbers, and found that crime is up 21% in the past year. Crimes are up 32% from before the cameras went up.

Chicago police said many of the crimes involve stolen cell phones and less serious crimes.

They also point out that they're now making arrests in two out of every three cases they investigate.
