GROSSE ILE, Mich. (WJBK) -

A frightening two vehicle accident temporarily shut down the Grosse Ile free bridge and left one vehicle on top of the guard rail.

The impact of what appeared to be a head-on collision between the two cars sent both drivers to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The bridge was opened a short time later.
