Gillibrand sees agreement on spending cuts "a long shot"

The clock is winding down on a budget agreement on Capitol Hill. If Congress doesn't strike a deal by Friday, $85B in spending cuts will take place.

Good Day NY spoke with Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) about the potential for the cuts and what that would mean for the American people.

"We're going to offer a budget that will give us a much more balanced approach. I'm very worried this is going to be severe cuts to early childhood education, special needs children. A lot of our homeland security money is going to be cut…it's going to be very tough on New Yorkers. I hope common sense will prevail. I think it's a long shot (that an agreement is reached)" said Gillibrand.
