DETROIT (WJBK) -

FOX 2's Al Allen was among the winners of this year's 2013 Silver Circle Awards. He was honored Sunday night by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences along with Fox 2 director Alex Kimbrough.

The Silver Circle honors media professionals who began their careers in television at least 25 years ago, either in a performing, creative, technical or administrative role within the industry or in an area related to television.

Al says even though he's retired from Fox 2, he still gets up every morning at 2 a.m. Click on the video player to hear what else he had to say.
