NEW RIVER, Ariz. -

A man is accused of lighting his estranged wife's home on fire on Saturday morning.

Firefighters say a fire started in the bedroom of a home near I-17 and Daisy Mountain Drive.

Maricopa County Sheriff's deputies were looking for a suspect when they were contacted by a woman who lives at the home with a roommate.

The woman told deputies she has an order of protection against her estranged husband, Gary Noel.

Deputies say they believe Noel started the fire.

Noel was found and taken into custody.

As he was taken to jail, he was not shy about talking when asked if he had tried to burn the house down.

"Well, my wife cheated on me, that's not the half of it, she cheated on me with another woman."

He's charged with arson of an occupied structure, burglary and criminal damage.

No one was injured in the fire.
