MORROW, Ga. (AP) - About 100 middle school students are set to converge on Clayton State University for a regional math competition.

School spokesman John Shiffert says the College of Information and Mathematical Sciences is hosting the state regional MathCounts competition Saturday.

Mathcounts is a national middle school competitive mathematics program consisting of 4 rounds that test accuracy, problem solving processes, teamwork and speed.

Shiffert says a school recruiter will also be on hand to talk about higher education possibilities with competitors, their families and coaches.

The event is run by the Georgia Society of Professional Engineers and begins at 8 a.m.

Morrow is about 15 miles south of downtown Atlanta.
