Let It Rip: Discrimination lawsuit filed against Flint hospital

Posted: Updated:
SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (WJBK) -

It is the story making headlines all across the country.  A Flint hospital is accused of honoring a white father's racist request to have only white nurses care for his baby.  Hurley Medical Center denies it, but an African-American nurse is suing on the grounds of discrimination.

Should patients have the right to make those types of requests?

Joining Huel Perkins and Charlie Langton on our panel to discuss are:

Michael Halker, a local businessman who is not racist.  He believes in equal right for everyone, but he also believes that in some cases the individual rights of the patient should carry more weight than what some of us think is politically correct.

And Rev. Charles Williams, a preacher, leader and activist who is president of the state chapter of the National Action Network.  He went to Hurley this week and plans to lead a demonstration on Monday.

Plus, Charlie Langton takes "Let It Rip" on the road and asks people for their thoughts on this topic.
