DETROIT (WJBK) -

Delrick Miller IV could light up the room.  He was developing his own personality at the age of nine months.

"He'd just bust out laughing like look at them, they silly.  He loved to laugh," said grandmother Cynthia Wilkins.  "He wasn't a crier."

But overnight on February 20, 2012, someone in a drive-by opened fire shooting into the family home on Greenview near Joy Road in northwest Detroit.  Multiple shots pierced the walls of the home.  Those shots also hit Delrick as he slept in his crib.  His life ended at the age of nine months.

"We just really want to find the killer," said aunt Erica Salter.  "I hope you come out.  You should be ashamed of what you did.  How do you sleep at night?"

His mother, Diamond, was home with her son that night.  She was not shot and not injured, yet the pain is still unbearable.

Family and friends gathered for a vigil Wednesday night not far from where Delrick was fatally shot.  The family said they have no idea why someone would open fire on the home.  It has been one year.  Police chased some leads, but don't have a conviction or an arrest.

There is a $2,500 reward.  If you have any information, you are asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK-UP.  You can remain anonymous.
