Man charged in Gage Park kidnapping

Posted: Updated:
CHICAGO (Sun-Times Media Wire) -

A South Side man has been charged with the robbery and kidnapping of his ex-girlfriend earlier this month in the Gage Park neighborhood.

Hector Hernandez, 20, of the 2100 block of W. 54th, is accused of grabbing the woman by her jacket at 4900 S. Western on Feb. 6, snatching her cell phone and keys and hitting her in the back of the head, court records show.

Prosecutors said he attacked the woman while asking to see their child. They said he pulled the woman into an alley, and court records show he eventually forced her from the 4900 block of S. Western to the 5400 block of S. Artesian.

Hernandez, who records show is a self-admitted member of the Latin King street gang and goes by the nickname "Sin," was arrested Friday at his home.
