Three people were rushed to the hospital after a 35-vehicle pileup on I-75 at Dix Toledo in Brownstown. Drivers said sudden snow squalls and white out conditions contributed to the crash. Multi-vehicle accidents were also reported in other locations including I-96, I-94, M-10, the Southfield freeway and US-23.

On the Southfield at Oakwood in Allen Park, a van could be seen up on an embankment. The northbound lanes were shut down for several hours. Witnesses tell us the driver of a car hauler jackknifed while trying to avoid an accident in front of him setting off the chain reaction crash.

Police are still tallying up the numbers, but it's estimated as many as 30 cars and trucks were involved.
