Accident in Lincoln Tunnel

Posted: Updated:
NEW JERSEY (MYFOXNY.COM) -

One of the two tubes of the Lincoln Tunnel leading from New Jersey into New York City was closed for a period of time on Friday morning due to an accident.

The delays stretched back to the New Jersey Turnpike and delays were estimated to be at an hour and growing at 7 a.m.

Traffic was flowing into both tubes by 7:15 a.m.

The center tube was the only path into the city until the incident was resolved.  One lane of that tube is normally reserved for busses.

The Holland Tunnel and George Washington Bridge were in better shape for commuters.
