NEW YORK (MYFOXNY) -

Funeral services will be held Tuesday in West Nyack, New York for a mother and her adult daughter killed in a house fire/

Barbara Calise, 79, and Yvonne Calise, 55, died late Wednesday night, said fire officials.

The fire in the New City house broke out at approximately 11:30 p.m. inside 36 Stratford Place.

The flames spread quickly in the one-family house before they were put out about 45 minutes later, said fire officials.

A charred structure is all that remained of the house.

"It was a heavy volume of fire. The fire was so far advanced that they could do only what they could do," said a New City fire official.

About 100 firefighters battled the flames.

Officials say the fire started in their basement laundry room.

The mother worked as a nurse and had an antiques business with her late husband.  The daughter, who used as a wheelchair, volunteered with foster children, reported the Associated Press.
