PHILADELPHIA -

A 7-year-old girl from West Philadelphia has become the youngest person to ever code a video game.

West Philadelphia first grader Zora Ball was introduced to a program called "Bootstrap" by one of her teachers at the Harambe Charter School.

"I just wanted to push the envelop and do something different and see if she got the concept," teacher Baba Tariq Al-Nasir said.

Zora joined a Saturday class with fifth- and sixth-graders and learned a simplified way to code. After 10 weeks of classes, Zora came up with the game.

Word of the first-grader's achievement has made its away across the country, earning her some notable recognition.

To play the game, "Vampire Diamonds," you have to get a password from the charter school. But Zora says she is working on a way to turn the game into an app that you could download on your mobile device.

You can watch the story in the video above.

A light jacket may be needed early in the day with lows in the 50s, but under sunny skies temperatures climb into the low 80s.  Along the coast highs top out in the mid 70s.  Winds will be out of the WSW 5-10 mph.  High 83. Low 58.
