'Kate Middleton nose' is most requested plastic surgery

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. -

Pregnant or not, a lot of women want to look like Kate Middleton.

So kiss off Angelina's lips and kick Kim Kardashian's butt to the curb -- patients are now running to plastic surgeons on search of a little royal rhinoplasty.

The Daily News says the number of women requesting noses like Kate Middleton has tripled since the royal wedding, making the duchess of Cambridge's stately snout the most-prized celebrity body part in the world.

"It's kind of in vogue," says Dr. Daniel Shapiro, Shapiro Plastic Surgery. "I have friends in Manhattan, it is one of the highest requested procedures now."

It's hard to avoid the Kate phenomenon.

"She is all over the tabloids, she's like on all the covers of the tabloids," a rhinoplasty patient told us.

Three weeks ago this patient had surgery changing her nose to one like Kate Middleton's.

"I liked Kate Middleton's nose because she had a very angular nose. It was petite, it was cute for her grace, the harmony of her face was what I was looking for," she says.

Take a look at this patient's before and after pictures. Now compare her nose to the future queen of England's.

"She has a classically English nose, and it's not a perfect nose. She's a very pretty woman, I mean, she's not perfect," says Dr. Daniel Shapiro, Shapiro Plastic Surgery.

Not perfect, but then plastic surgeons say perfection is not always what they strive to achieve.

"Perfection is boring. You know, it's the little intricacies of people's faces that make people beautiful."

Surgeons warn that not every face was made for Kate Middleton's nose, and often patients must have other work done to their chins, cheeks or brows to make the regal beak work for them.

It appears the subway bedbug problem we've been reporting is getting worse. Commuters already have to contend with sweltering platforms, scurrying rats and packed train cars, and now there's another transit woe: fear of bedbugs.
